The RUSM & AMP Partnership

A Message From Ross University School of Medicine

Ross University School of Medicine is proud to partner with AMP to provide a pathway for qualified students from India to study in a US-style medical program. RUSMā€™s 4-year graduate entry medical program includes 20 months of basic science courses in Barbados and 90 weeks of clinical training in the United States. RUSM graduates earn an MD (Medical Doctor) which is designed to prepare students to enter a US residency program.

Ross Med chose to partner with AMP because of the AMP programā€™s emphasis on metacognition and critical thinking. Performance on AMP assessments has been validated as an indicator of real work performance in medical and residency programs. As such, successful completion of the AMP program, in addition to your qualifying NEET score, allows our admission committee to substitute RUSMā€™s requirement for a bachelorā€™s degree (typically 120 college credits) for an equivalent of 90 college credits, and allows flexibility when considering science courses taken as pre-requisites. Currently RUSM is only considering applicants without a bachelorā€™s degree, who have successfully completed the AMP program.

After completion of the AMP program, AMP team will connect you with a dedicated RUSM admission representative that will support you through the final application process and prepare you to begin your study in Barbados.

The AMP Approach

The Value Of Metacognition And Critical Thinking In Medicine

The AMP Program is based on sixty-five years of research and practice using principles of learning and action that are based on the science of behavioral complexity. The underlying technology and learning methodology has been used to evaluate and train decision making in a wide range of corporations as well as defense and educational establishments.

This methodology has strong validation and relevance within medicine. Data obtained using the MedThinker technology for student performance in medical school has demonstrated improvement in overall GPAs. Additionally, its value has also been demonstrated in evaluating physician performance using standard patient outcome measures.

Selected publications are available below for reference.
